The Hertz - Gatwick South car rental location is located out of the airport

To make sure your vehicle is waiting in the correct terminal, please enter your flight number on the reservation - If you want to add your flight number after the reservation is confirmed, please follow the instructions on "View / Modify Booking" or contact your Reservation Centre. Where a flight number is not included in the reservation the Hertz vehicle will be prepared at the South Terminal. North Terminal: Customers arriving at the North Terminal within opening hours should make their way to “Car Rental” on Floor 2 in the terminal building. 【Notice: As of April 22nd until May 20th, 2024 Hertz's south terminal office will be closed for refurbishment. During this period, please go to the north terminal office on the ground floor in the arrivals hall for pick-up. You can still return the car to the south terminal multi story red car park. 】

Return to the Store, Car Park or Key Box & After Hours Return

For customers returning to the North Terminal they should make their way to Car Park 6, and follow the signs to car rental. Customers will need to obtain a ticket at the car park entrance barrier which must then be put in to the machine at the car rental entrance floor to enable them to get into return the vehicle. The keys should be removed from the vehicle and given to a Hertz agent in the car park. There is a mono rail at the airport to transfer customers from the North terminal to the South terminal when it is closed. South Terminal: Customers arriving or returning to the South Terminal should follow the signs for “Car Rental”. All trains arrive at the South Terminal. Please also refer to the Out of Hours information in Rental Qualifications Requirements.

If you wish to take a UK registered vehicle into the Republic of Ireland, you are required by law to be in possession of: 1- a VE103B certificate which is proof Hertz has permitted the vehicle to travel outside of the United Kingdom and; 2- a Green Card which is a proof of insurance and must contain the vehicle registration. An advance notice of 12 working days is required for obtaining/issuing a Green Card. The VE103B certificate and the Green Card are not required for travelling to Northern Ireland. Charges for issuing a VE103B and a Green Card are as follows: Number of days into the Republic of Ireland - Standard Cover (including taxes)： 1~7 days - £ 171.99; 14 days - £ 209.90; 15~21 days - £ 226.51; 22~28 days - £ 301.73. The cover can only be purchased at time of pick-up. Should these restrictions be ignored, all insurance (Third Party Liability, CDW, TP, PI, Super Cover), if accepted, shall be null and void. The driver will be held fully responsible in case of accidents and will bear all consequences, including the cost of repatriation of the damaged vehicle.

The car was parked on its own in my private driveway in the country but they have accused me of a small scratch at the back above the bumper. This was already on the car and was not me but they are charging me for it. No-one went round the car with me on pick up and there was no-one there when i dropped it off Terrible - will never use Hertz again
