While waiting to enter the parking lot at a highway service area, our parked car was hit by another vehicle. Our car was stationary in a proper parking area, yet it got hit. I immediately called to report the accident, but the staff kept transferring my call. After 30 minutes, I still hadn't been helped and was sent to voicemail. I understand it was a Sunday, but the leaflet claimed 24/7 service, which turned out to be misleading.
The staff were polite when returning the car, but I discovered they had entered the wrong email address. Despite promising to correct it, nothing was changed. Two days later, I called the Alamo damage recovery unit and confirmed the email was still incorrect. Moreover, my email inquiry regarding the claim status, which their website said would be answered within 7 days, received no response even after 9 days. While the staff were friendly, their efficiency was severely lacking.
Furthermore, we forgot our tripod in the back seat of the car while explaining the crash to the staff. We contacted them after arriving in Dubai, but the vehicle had already been sent to the repair center. Despite promises of an email update, we received none. Subsequent calls revealed the car was either still being repaired or had already been rented out again, and the tripod was not found. While I admit I should have checked for belongings more carefully, the inability to locate a clearly placed item was extremely frustrating. The tripod, bought specifically for this trip, was used only once and cost over a thousand dollars. Now, I have to try claiming it through travel insurance.

When returning the car as suggested I made a video of the car condition, but the agent receiving the car got agitated saying that I can’t film on private property, told him I was filming the car as suggested, then switch to I could not record his voice, but did not shut up, so how am I supposed to record the car conditions if the employee does not shut up or let you do it ???
