Keddy seems to be a subsidiary of Europcar. The car provided felt somewhat old, possibly passed down from the parent company. However, it offers great value for money with affordable pricing and services that align with Europcar standards. This review is based on personal perspective, and may be subjective. There are several points to note: before renting, the platform informed us the car would have a full tank, but it actually only had 2/8 full. Returning the car with the corresponding fuel level was a bit of a hassle. The rear wheel cover fell off at some point, and upon inspection, the left rear wheel cover was also tied on with zip ties. This wasn’t a major issue, but it was slightly unsettling. When returning the vehicle, I mentioned it, and they assured me I wouldn’t be charged. The car’s initial settings were in French, so I strongly suggest adjusting them before driving. The FIAT500 is semi-automatic—initially a bit tricky to handle as the gas pedal requires a bit more force to get moving, but it becomes manageable with practice. Over 15 days and 2400 km of travel across mountain roads and heavy rain, the small car proved to be fairly reliable.
I have previously rented cars from Sixt, Budget, and Hertz, and had excellent experiences. However, renting from Europcar this October was frustrating twice.
In February, I rented Europcar vehicles through a rental company at Madrid Airport in Spain and at Tangier Airport in Morocco, with a super full insurance and fully paid upfront.
On October 6th, when I arrived at Tangier Airport in Morocco to pick up the car, the Europcar staff did not acknowledge the rental company or the super full insurance. He demanded that I:
1. Purchase additional insurance, otherwise, I would be responsible for any damages. I firmly refused.
2. Pay a deposit of 24,000 dirhams (approximately 2,400 euros) or I could not take the car. I had no choice but to pay the 2,400 euros with my credit card!!
I faced the same situation at Madrid Airport in Spain.
Will I dare to use Europcar again in the future?!
