The car was quite old and worn out, usually you get better quality from AVIS. Noises coming from the gearbox, brakes but in the end it did its job. I had to point out damages before departure as they were not marked. Staff was nice.

Attention: Stop renting from this car rental company immediately!
Here's what happened to me at Zagreb Airport in Croatia. Despite asking three times and confirming that I didn't need any insurance or additional fees, the rental company still secretly added insurance. The rental itself cost 2000 (including the super collision damage waiver recommended by ZuZuChe), but they added an extra 4000 in fees. To prevent me from noticing, they deliberately didn't show me the full contract and made me sign using an electronic device while folding the page showing the fees.
Their malicious intent and despicable practices are outrageous and disgusting. I can't imagine or understand how such things could happen, especially with AVIS being an international rental company. This clearly reflects that their employee training is all about treating customers as cash machines and taking advantage of them whenever possible (they even gave me a car with less fuel, and I refilled it generously). Given this company's values, who knows how they would treat you if there's a problem with the car or if it breaks down on the road? Do not rent from them!

Very dissatisfied, a scam. 1. No storefront at the pickup location. Contacted the rental company and it took almost an hour (after I called them myself) to get in touch. The actual storefront is in the countryside, not at the listed location, and you can't contact them without calling. 2. The car given to us was full of dents and scratches, extremely run-down, and the wheels were damaged. Various issues kept occurring with the vehicle. They insisted there was only this car and that it's fine to drive. I asked if the adblue was full, and they said it was. Shortly after getting on the highway, a warning came on indicating no adblue, forcing us to detour to refill. Additionally, the tire pressure monitor showed a warning during the drive. The company said it's fine but advised us to check it at a store en route if we were really concerned. 3. They said the cost of adblue would be reimbursed upon return. At the drop-off location, they refused to reimburse, citing scratches and charged over 2000 Kuna for damages plus an additional 10 Euros. The 10 Euros were supposedly to offset the 65 Kuna adblue cost but there was no invoice, receipt, or any explanation. They didn't even return the 65 Kuna. Absolutely appalling.

1. The pickup time is rigid; if they say you have to pick up at a certain time, you must pick up at that time. Because it's hard to predict the arrival time of international flights into Zagreb, we checked a lot of information online and planned to pick up the car within an hour of arrival, based on the actual flight and customs clearance time. The staff insisted we wait for an hour. Even though we explained the flight and immigration issues, they didn't understand and instead demanded that we coordinate with their working hours. 2. The car pickup process was slow; there were only two counters, and only one was open. The European customers behind us were not in a hurry, which I guess is normal.

1. The car pickup time is quite rigid; you must pick up the car at the exact time you booked. Since it's hard to predict the international flight arrival time in Zagreb, we planned to pick up the car within an hour after arrival based on flight and customs information. However, the staff made us wait an extra hour, and they were rather inflexible despite us explaining the flight and immigration issues. They insisted we adjust to their schedule. 2. The car pickup process was slow with only one of the two available counters open, which seems to be a common occurrence as the other European customers weren’t in a hurry.

1. The car pick-up time is quite rigid. If they say a specific time, you must adhere to it. It's hard to predict the arrival time of international flights to Zagreb, and despite researching online, based on the actual flight and customs times, we planned to pick up the car within an hour of arrival. The staff made us wait an additional hour, which was quite rigid, even after we explained the situation. They didn't really understand and insisted we match their schedule instead. 2. Upon a friend's recommendation, I tried using the Zuzuche platform for overseas car rental for the first time and had a distressing experience. We arrived at the pick-up location on time, only to wait for an hour and a half, and were given a car in terrible condition, with extremely old interior, dirty seats, and a filthy steering wheel. It was a manual transmission vehicle, more like a farm vehicle, and likely pulled from temporary inventory by the rental company. This was nothing like the Mercedes V-Class or similar car we had reserved. The staff indicated this was the only available car. After waiting for an hour and a half, we reluctantly accepted it to avoid affecting our subsequent plans. Having not driven a manual for over twenty years, it was quite challenging, and there were several dangerous moments in city traffic. Moreover, Zuzuche provided completely incorrect return instructions and phone number for the location, making us search for over an hour. Fortunately, the hotel front desk staff helped contact the rental company, but it wasted half a day. The entire experience, from pick-up to car condition to drop-off, was painful. This was the worst car rental I've had abroad, affecting my driving experience and delaying my plans. Additionally, when submitting an evaluation, I had to select a car model to proceed. Since the car I used wasn't listed, I could only choose a small Volkswagen, which does not reflect the actual car I used.

Based on a friend's recommendation, I used the Zuzuche platform to rent a car abroad for the first time and had an awful experience. We arrived at the store on time to pick up the car, but ended up waiting an hour and a half. We were then given a car in terrible condition - the interior was old, the seats and steering wheel were filthy, and it was a manual transmission. It felt more like a farm vehicle, and it was likely a last-minute substitution from the rental company, which was nothing like the Mercedes V-class or similar model we had reserved. The staff said this was the only car available. We reluctantly accepted it after waiting so long to avoid delaying our trip further. I hadn't driven a manual for over 20 years and struggled with it, facing frequent dangerous situations in city traffic. To make matters worse, the return location and phone number provided by Zuzuche were completely wrong, leaving us searching for over an hour. Eventually, the hotel front desk helped us contact the rental company, which wasted half a day. From pickup to the car model to return, it was a terrible experience. This was the worst car rental experience I’ve had abroad, affecting my self-driving experience and delaying my trip. Note: I had to select a car model to submit this review, but there was no option for the actual car I used, so I selected a Volkswagen, which doesn't match what I rented.

Initially Offered me a lower class vehicle ( Peugeot c-élysées) which I refused. Then the Counter staff blamed the Spanish office for allocating that vehicle type. then I Had to demand goldcar find me a suitable vehicle They then offered me a beaten up and worn older model Kia Ceed. I was embarrassed by the condition of the car and had to wait from 10am to 3:45pm before they eventually provided me with a suitable vehicle. Knowing I had been waiting there from 10am the counter staff still made me wait in line on 3 separate lengthy occasions before they would serve me or follow up further on finding me a suitable vehicle the category I booked. On the 3rd visit to the counter I was told they were bringing me a new Ford Focus, however the counter staff member ended up upgrading and giving my car to the customer before me instead. When I asked why did he do that? The person replied ‘because we did have a vehicle in his category available’. But why then didn’t you offer me the same when I initially arrived to pick up my vehicle? He just shrugged his shoulders and apologised. Then out of embarrassment and in the end he offered me a higher category vehicle to get me eventually going. He could’ve done that at the very start and saved everyone a lot of time and headache.

Great service, although the tank was only 78% full on pick-up. This was noted on the document by the member of staff who checked the car over. He didn’t know what to do, when I asked why, he just shrugged his shoulders and said ‘I don’t know’? He said the tank was full but the dial must be broken. Of course when I filled the car up the dial went to 100%. I felt less aggrieved as the return location allowed us to return the car over two hours after the return time, at no extra cost.

I write you now to try to find whom am I suppose to send my complaint regarding my rental at Zagreb Airport branch. The main problem is that for a small scratch at the plastic rear bumper of the old and with foul smell Suzuki Baleno that was given to me at Zadar (*), the officer Bogdan charged me 375 euros!!! Just last May in Portugal my friend paid Hertz 290 euros for a new windshield at his Renault Clio, after a small stone dented it on the highway. Very unfortunate. My case is so much cheaper, I can’t believe AddCar decided to charge me almost 400 euros for a repair that cannot cost more than 50. I understand that my booking thru EasyCar was at a very special rate, but that was AddCar offer and it is not fair to try to get back some money by so high damage charge for a very little dent. Only a scratch, it did not even kneaded the car. For 32 days of rental, I paid 3.151,90 kunas (including cross border taxes). Today, for the dent, I paid 2.812,50 kunas. It is just not fair, sir... (*)The first car I got at Zagreb lasted only 4 days with us due to an elletronic malfunction, and had to be toed away. We lost a day of the vacations by the Zadar airport waiting for another car to arrive, and the one they gave us was this Blue Baleno in a very bad shape. All dented, dirty (although one hour of our waiting was supposed to be for the carwash) and smelling of sweat and cigarettes (the same odor with the first car, but in this case propagou because you staff of smokers uses the car and smoked in it just before renting it to me). Just after a few days the “new” car started to smell a little better, but by that time the clutch pedal was giving constant reason for concern, as it sometimes got stuck back and won’t come out when you are changing gears. Very dangerous, specially during overtakes. This problem was reported today to Bogdan as well, who attributed the indecent amount charged to my car due to a standard damage fee (75) plus the dent itself (300 euros!!!).

I was quite hesitant to book with this company because their price was 10% lower than the big company SIXT. However, I saw reviews mentioning being charged for damages that were not noted during the initial inspection. Initially, I booked with SIXT because it's a reputable company, but then I found that this company offered the same model for nearly 25% less. Research showed that this company is a local Croatian rental company similar to CAR Inc. in China. Hoping for the best, I canceled SIXT and booked with them, planning to inspect the car thoroughly when picking it up. Although the car was delayed by an hour due to city transfer, the staff was polite and did not push for additional insurance. However, the cross-border fee was mandatory for 10 days at 7 euros per day (even though our trip to Bosnia and Montenegro was only 5 days and 4 nights), maybe they start counting from when you leave the mainland? Additionally, there was a 15 euro ferry fee even though the ferry ticket already included the car. My English isn't great, so I didn't bother arguing and just accepted it. However, returning the car was another story altogether. Despite driving carefully without any incidents, the staff inspected the car thoroughly and found a scratch under the front bumper that was not noted during pickup. It's an area hardly anyone would check (see attached photo). At the counter, they insisted it was our fault and their attitude was the complete opposite of their friendliness during pickup! They charged us 1200 kuna for the damage and just waited for us to sign. This last part soured the end of our trip. Thankfully, we had full insurance through the rental platform, and they eventually covered the damage cost. However, this underhanded tactic is highly unethical! I strongly advise future renters to get full insurance and note every tiny scratch during pickup, including under the bumper.
