I have to wait more than ten minutes because was Easter time and was busy, nevertheless the staff was very helpful and attended. The office was a little difficult to find because in Atocha there is just one sign that show you were are the rent a car offices, not very easy to find, non of them not only álamo.

We showed up exactly on time but car was not available. After 1.5 hours they gave us an economy SUV which was uncomfortable to drive on the trip we were taking. We were told "Sorry, but we paid another company, not Alamo".

When we arrived at Madrid train station, they said there were no cars available. We waited for nearly three hours, and they promised a Mercedes 9-seater, but at the parking spot, they changed their mind and gave us a car that had just been returned by someone else. The car wasn't even cleaned, and the tank was empty. As a result, this car hadn't undergone safety checks, which led to a tire blowout on the road, putting everyone's safety at risk. We spent most of the day fixing the tire, ruining our plans and costing us several hundred for international calls.

Could not pick up the car in advance, even if it was just 10 minutes early. After the paperwork, you have to walk to the parking lot behind the station to get the car. Rented an SUV but got an Audi A3 because it was the only option available.

Initially, we were given a new 7-seater Sorento with 1300 kilometers at Atocha. It had all the features and was easy to drive, but it was uncomfortable for six of us. After discussing, we found that only the airport had an Optima available. So, I drove the Sorento to the airport to exchange it for the 75000-kilometer Optima. The car was in decent condition, no insurance sales pitch, and the exchange process was smooth. Overall, a good experience!

When picking up the car, it had two bars of fuel, and we returned it with the same amount. However, they still charged us for fuel. The staff acknowledged the mistake when we questioned it, but a month has passed and the refund has not been resolved. Additionally, we had already purchased super insurance at the time of booking and showed it to the staff when picking up the car. Yet, the receipt at return included insurance charges and related taxes. These additional fees amounted to two-thirds of the original rental cost. This is the first time we've encountered such an issue after many self-driving trips both domestic and abroad.
