Our first car had an engine issue, but they swapped it out the same day with no fuss, and the second one was in great condition mechanically. Just be aware the exterior of their cars can look pretty rough — lots of scratches — so make sure you record a video when you pick up the car and check the tire tread carefully. The car was easy to drive and very fuel-efficient. In Chiang Mai, a lot of attractions are up in the mountains with tons of sharp curves, steep slopes, and narrow roads where passing is tricky. Avoid driving in the mountains at night — there are no streetlights and it’s really dangerous! Use L gear for climbing; it can still handle the hills. Don’t stay in D going up and down the mountains or you risk overheating the engine. The rental company’s service was great: no hard-selling, staff were friendly, and they replied quickly on WhatsApp.
