Picked up the car at Munich Airport; the service was terrible, with staff having poker faces as if we owed them money. Very inefficient. I booked a Touran, but they gave me a Kia, which was quite disappointing. The only consolation was that it was a new high-spec car with just over a thousand kilometers on it.
It was okay overall, but the staff's attitude during the car return process was terrible. There was already a record of scratches on the rim in their system, yet they insisted it was caused by us and demanded evidence. Eventually, they found in their system that the scratches were pre-existing, but still blamed us for not taking photos as proof beforehand. Seriously? Your car pickup garage is so dark, how am I supposed to take photos there?
We had booked a Mercedes E-Class, but were informed at pickup that only an Audi A5 was available. With five of us, it felt a bit small. We wanted to exchange it for another model but were told no other cars were available. On the bright side, the car was new and very clean.
The car rental process at Munich Airport is indeed very busy. Europcar, SIXT, AVIS, and Hertz counters all have long lines. Europcar had five out of seven desks open, which was less than other companies who had all their counters open. However, a positive aspect was their numbered ticket system, so you don't have to stand in line after taking a number; you can browse nearby shops. This time, I waited nearly 40 minutes to get the car. I noticed that foreigners finished their process in just a few minutes; it took me less than ten minutes, but the groups of Chinese people in front of me took significantly longer, especially one group that took over half an hour.
I got a Mazda 6, the performance is grate but the car already have some scratches on it. I like the auto speed control, that help me don’t wary about speed limit.
