Very satisfied. After we informed the staff that we had already purchased insurance, they did not push any additional sales. Communication was smooth, and picking up and dropping off the car were both very easy.
Excellent service, but note that the international translation of the driver's license provided by QEEQ is not accepted for car pickup. You need a notarized version in English or Italian. In my case, I was allowed to rent because I have a foreign driver's license.
I'm not one to give negative reviews easily. Even on platforms like Taobao, I've never given a bad review before. My experience with Europcar this time was very poor. However, due to needing to hurry, I had to endure it and left without arguing, driving a car that greatly disappointed me for 5 days. Everything went by the book during the rental process. The rental agent asked if I wanted to buy any additional insurance, but since I thought I already had full coverage, I declined. The critical moment was when I received a Renault key, which immediately disheartened me. I told him, 'I clearly reserved an Audi A3, why am I getting a Renault?' The agent replied, 'This is a car of the same size and category.' I recalled seeing this phrase during the booking but never expected it to be so far-fetched. If size is the only criterion, why not give me a Wuling Hongguang, it's even bigger? The car I received was a Renault Kadjar. Although it's different from the co-branded models in my country, how can a Renault and an Audi be in the same category? Am I not well-read? Plus, the car was dirty, especially at the front, splattered with mud, and scratched all over. The Kadjar is quite large, making it unsuitable for the roads in Sicily where we were traveling, especially since there were only two of us. I've been to Sicily before, so I knew that a big vehicle is not ideal for driving there. The Kadjar is about the size of an Audi Q5. I had considered all this when making my reservation, but one phrase 'same category' ruined my mood. The car was dirty and heavily scratched, leaving me very annoyed and highly dissatisfied.
The car was parked in the lot while we went for dinner. An Italian person scratched the car from the back to the front with a key. The staff admitted it wasn't due to improper driving but incidental damage. Rushing to catch a flight, we had no time to report it to the police. The staff said, according to their policy, the estimated damage was 1400 euros. Basic insurance covers up to 900 euros, and there was no room for negotiation. We had to pay 900 euros to proceed. This was a very, very unpleasant car rental experience! First, I think the car rental company overestimated the damage cost excessively in such a special situation. It felt like a scam! Big car rental companies have designated repair centers, and the damage estimation cost is way too high. A car worth just over ten thousand euros, and we ended up paying 900. Second, the car rental websites shouldn't focus solely on low prices to attract customers. Our situation was quite special, and it's impossible to assess a region's security before renting a car. Such insurance should be included in the basic coverage to ensure the car rental experience. Overall, this experience completely ruined our car rental trip. We bore a significant risk without any fault of our own!
Difficulty finding a petrol station and ran out of time. (Not their fault) Ridiculous that they charge a filling fee on top of the cost of the petrol. 22€ fee.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
Probably would have picked another car. We got what we ordered, which is unusual. I blame James May! LOL
