Avoid this car rental company at all costs! The staff have terrible attitudes, deliberately make things difficult for Chinese customers, are arrogant, rude, and impolite!!! Absolutely awful! I've truly never seen anything this bad, they are so unprofessional, rolling their eyes and making all sorts of unreasonable demands! When I refused to buy their expensive insurance, they immediately changed their attitude! Made me wait at the airport for over three hours for no reason!!! I rented for ten days but returned the car after two days! They charged me a 15,000 deposit and held it for a month!!! Just terrible!
Je ne reprendrai jamais gold car. Ils ont voulu absolument nous vendre une assurance alors que nous en avions déjà une. Les autres clients étaient tous très mécontents, certains se sont vu refuser leur carte alors qu'ils l'utilisaient habituellement pour des locations de voiture dans les autres agences ; leur réservation n'était possible que s'ils prenaient leur assurance à 150 euros ! Nous avons passé près de 4h à négocier pour récupérer la voiture sans prendre d'assurance supplémentaire. Certains clients se sont vu prélever des sommes injustifiées sur leur caution... Bref une société à éviter !!!

I have rented cars multiple times, however, it has always been through Avis/Hertz/EuropCar. This has been the first time I rented Gold Car and experience was a breeze.
Collected the car in 15 minutes flat from Florence Airport. Car Drop-Off process took no more than 10 Minutes - Francesco at Gold Car Drop Off was really helpful and quick. The car condition was excellent and as good as new.
Just awaiting refund of the deposit/authorisation. Once that comes through, will leave a detailed review. Have been advised that the refund takes about 2 weeks time.
They are scam artists. Stuck me with a diesel car which wasn't on my rental agreement, then charged me an extra tax ("pollution tax") when my agreement said all taxes and surcharges were included. We discovered about 45 mins. after we left the rental facility that we only got 1/2 a tank of fuel. Called the company immediately who told us to email them the photograph of our fuel gage. Never received a response. We had only driven about 80km (about 50 miles) when we noticed. I drove further than that on the return and it only took about 2 gallons and cost about 10Euros for fuel. When I returned the car with exactly the amount of fuel I got, they argued with me, blamed it on me and then charged me for fuel and a fine. They pushed it off to customer service when it was their own people who told us to email THEM. I will be disputing this with my credit card company.
