The staff at the pickup counter insisted on upgrading the car type, citing the luggage being too large to fit in the car, which felt like a forced upsell. Overall, not very satisfied with this rental experience.
Extremely frustrated. We showed the rental order stating that insurance was already purchased and no additional insurance was needed to the front desk staff three times and emphasized that we only wanted to pay the amount on the order, yet we were still tricked into adding an unnecessary vehicle rescue insurance. They claimed it would be refunded if the fuel tank was full upon return. This was very upsetting and felt like a scam. During pickup, there was no one to assist us; we had to find our own way to the parking lot. The staff left the counter for a long time, leaving us searching the vast parking lot for an hour. It was a terrible experience.
The paperwork took an hour. Initially, they said there was no automatic transmission available, then they gave me a diesel Renault. The problem with this big car was that I couldn't drive it out of the parking lot, so I had to come back and exchange it. It was quite a hassle. Even though I had already bought full insurance, they still made me buy insurance. Since I don't understand Spanish, they said it was a deposit that would be refunded. I was with my child, so I signed it. Later, when I asked the rental company, they confirmed I already had full insurance. Just a reminder, do not sign if the amount doesn't match when you pick up the car!
