Ask for upgrade and was turned down. The customer next to me was given a upgrade without he asking. The car had minimum level of windscreen washer fluid. Had a a hard time to drive in winter n snow without washer fluid. Bought my own windscreen washer fluid to top up and use for my driving in winter snow. Avis disappointed me.
Average. When picking up the car, the staff mentioned that besides the car we originally booked, there was a BMW 5 Series Touring available at the same price. We asked if it could fit five suitcases, and the staff said the BMW was more suitable. However, when we went to pick up the car, we found the luggage couldn't fit. We returned to the store for help, but another staff member said it was impossible for him to assist us. When we requested a car swap, he claimed it was already the largest model available and refused to exchange it. His attitude was unfriendly. Eventually, we managed to fit all the suitcases ourselves. There were hidden charges since the so-called deposit has not yet been refunded. It's unclear if, as stated in the booking, no extra fees were supposed to be charged at the store.
They pushed additional sales, the staff's English was not good and they were discriminatory towards customers. They couldn't accept UnionPay cards, downgraded my vehicle, and maliciously charged me without any explanation even 20 days later. AVIS in Switzerland is extremely bad. Do not choose this company. This is the worst car rental experience I have had in years of renting cars abroad.
We arrived at noon and went directly to the store to handle the process. There were not many people, but they didn't have the car model we reserved. They gave us big cars instead. Considering our situation, after some communication, we chose a relatively smaller Opel station wagon in the parking lot. It felt like there weren't many options, and most were quite large.
The car was not what I booked. I reserved a Passat wagon, but they gave me a Touran instead and insisted it was the same class. I was in a hurry and didn't argue further.
The store is good, but the only thing that worries me is that the Montreux store uses the Royal Plaza Hotel for car returns, and they didn't give me a receipt.
Waited for half an hour. The staff claimed that the car I reserved wasn't ready and offered me a different, obviously inferior, brand. I did not accept.
