They charged 5000 THB as an accident fee just for minor scratches on the wheel rim. The contract states 'ACCIDENT FEE', but slight rim scratches are just superficial. This company deliberately checked beyond any minor issues to impose this fee. After so many car rentals in Thailand, choosing TAI RENT was the first time I felt the service in Thailand was poor. Will never use them again—extremely disappointing.
If you have plenty of money, go for it! This is merely an intermediary company. The so-called compensation basically means asking customers to buy a car! Furthermore, offering rental cars is illegal, whether domestically or abroad, and legal proceedings have been ongoing.
Both pickup and drop-off were at the airport, which was generally quite convenient. The car itself was in great condition, but the only downside was the overwhelming number of mosquitoes inside the car at the time of handover. There were at least 30 to 40 mosquitoes in the vehicle. Since the handover took place at the airport, the car hadn't been parked for long. When I first got the car, I had to both familiarize myself with its condition and frantically deal with the mosquitoes, which was actually quite dangerous. I'm not sure why there were so many mosquitoes. Even after using mosquito repellent spray, it didn't help. I had to stop several times during the trip to try and get rid of them, but I couldn't. It felt like I was surrounded by a swarm of mosquitoes. I suggest the rental company address this issue before handing over the car.
The vehicle was quite good and well-maintained. Driving to Koh Chang was very comfortable, and the car was fuel-efficient, averaging 0.4 yuan per kilometer. However, I booked the car for 8 AM, and the staff didn't arrive until 10 AM.
