The overall score doesn’t reflect my experience so I had to put everything as a one star. The vehicle had stained seats, broken cup holders, the seals on the windows weren’t good- super loud Hwy driving. If it wasn’t midnight with two tired kids I would’ve driven back to SFO, returned the car and went to a different company. Not worth going with this company to save $30- lesson learned. Worst rental I’ve ever gotten

Jeremiah was excellent at counter.
Not just with us, but assuring customers behind us it would not belong. car had a lot of dents. Almost all doors and the back door also.
Overall, everything is relatively reasonable even it takes longer time to get phone call reply.
The only thing I felt very unpleasant is that counter staff at SFO quite unfriendly or not professionally at all.
When we arrived at the rental counter there were three agents on duty but two left to go on break. before we got to the head of the line. We waited about 30 minutes to be served because the agent was trying to get the people ahead of to buy extra insurance coverage, as well as prepaying tolls and gas. I realize that agents need a break and that they make money by up-selling but when there's only one agent and a fairly substantial line it would be nice if they would forego the extra commission to get people going. As it is I will not rent from Fox again. I'll pay the extra to go with a major rental car company.

This was the worst experience I have ever had renting a car. First we wanted a Jeep Grand Cherokee. What we got was a Mitsubishi which is smaller than a Jeep Grand Cherokee. But it all started when we got to the counter and had to wait for over an hour to get service. Everyone in line was complaining. Then we finally get to the counter and they try to sell us everything they can think of when we had already declined it when we booked. When I complained about the size of car we had paid for they proceeded to tell us that they do not have Jeep Cherokee at the same time the screen behind the counter was advertising the Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I mentioned it, the girl became very nasty. When we got to the garage to pick up the car, there was a Jeep Grand Cherokee there. The minute we opened the doors to the car, it smelled like someone had been on a horse farm with it. After sitting in the sun almost every day, it smelled even worse. I mentioned it to the attendant and he just ignored me. Because of the service we got, I made sure to check the car before we left and the back was all scratched so I made the attendant note it on our paperwork so we would not get charged for the damage. I will NEVER rent from FOX in San Francisco again. Worst experience renting a car ever.
Fox said they didn't have my car (Ford Fusion or similar) and that I would have to wait up to three hours. Or I could rent their Ford Fusion Hybrid for an added $10 a day. The vehicle averaged 36 MPG on 90% highway driving, so there wasn't much added value compared to a regular one. Then they lied and said I had to take an additional $11/day for driving over the Golden Gate Bridge just once! That was $77 plus tax for one trip over the bridge! Finally they charged $150 deposit which was supposed to be refunded, but only $60 was credited back. What was supposed to be a 282.66 rental actually cost over $600.
It took 2 1/2 hours to get through the car rental line. Hangry children everywhere. Not enough workers. It took longer to rent the car than fly from Colorado to California. That part sucked really bad!
The car was exactly what we needed and reserved for us. The issues began when we had a flat tire and needed assistance. Roadside assistance and customer service through fox was horrendous. Luckily my husband was able to put on a spare and we drove to the nearest fox location to swap out the vehicle. They did proceed to charge us since we did not fill up gas on the way with a donut on the car. Classy service.
I made a reservation two weeks before and when went for pickup even they have the cars available they repeatedly saying those are not available and giving for others. They constantly saying to upgrade and trying to make me to pay more....I wish if they could have give available car based on their priority bookings and vehicle class then It will be good and they have given me dirty car and the condition was bad with some sensor lights on the screen
Everything was fine except the pick up wait was unacceptable. We were standing in line for over 1 hour. Despite the amount of people in line the staff was very friendly.
