Car was in great condition and the staff easy to deal with both at collection and drop off

Pretty good, communication wasn't too difficult. During the rental period, they provided follow-up via phone and email with reminders. An additional driver cost $25 NZD per day. Returning the car was very convenient; I simply handed the key to the front desk staff and it was done. I booked a Toyota but got a Mitsubishi instead, which was easy to drive and relatively new. The staff didn't try to upsell insurance since I already purchased one domestically, so there were no extra charges. Initially, I wanted to rent snow chains but decided they weren't needed due to the weather, so the pre-authorization fee for them was deducted.
Like: I loved the car. In good condition, low mileage and drove really well. The service from the guys was really good too. Very friendly and went out of their way to help me when I needed anything. Dislike: The instructions on the approved email may be a bit hazy on pick up procedures. I didn't realize that I can call upon arrival in the country for a pick up. Minor issue as it was located only 20 min walk!
When I arrived at the location, there was no staff available. They left a note asking to call a phone number, but hilariously, the number was for the pickup location itself. With no one around, what was the point of the number? Thankfully, someone arrived after about 10 minutes.
The initial car provided had almost 100,000 km on it. Within two days it had a front-end problem and I noticed it also had two bald tyres. Car was changed over two one that was much better. Counter staff tried hard.
Like: great value for money i feel like i got a great deal and it was all so easy! Dislike: car smelled funny i was told it was some product they use in the cars it was a very minor issue but thats the only slight negative i could think of
