We picked up the car in Paris. During the trip, a dashboard alert indicated that AdBlue needed to be refilled. Later, we drove to Nice Airport, where they replaced the car for us. Finally, we returned the car at Paris Airport. Avis's service wasn't great—they charged us for fuel even though we returned the car with a full tank. Luckily, we had photos as proof, and the money was eventually refunded.
The service quality of Avis staff varies. During this rental experience, the gentleman assisting with car pickup, the lady on the customer service line when the car was damaged, and the gentleman who helped with the car exchange at Marseille Airport all displayed professionalism and a willingness to assist. The most disappointing issue occurred after returning the car and traveling back home, with Avis repeatedly charging unexplained fees despite confirmed billing details at the time of return. Currently, Zuzuche is helping to verify the charges.
The car rental company did not answer calls on the weekend, their location was hard to find, I wandered around the train station for a long time, and they ultimately forced me to pay an upgrade fee.
The car I rented this time was a Toyota Yaris Cross, and later I discovered it actually had an autonomous driving feature. It was my first experience with autonomous driving, and it felt amazing! Thank you.
The service attitude was very good. After returning the car, they said the deposit would be refunded within two working days, but it was actually returned immediately.
The pick-up location is easy to find; the service is attentive and friendly; the car is in great condition, a brand new 2024 Clio; returning the car is convenient.
The car pickup process went smoothly. We also rented a child seat and tire chains. However, when picking up the car, the staff mentioned it had a full tank, but it actually only had 3/4 of a tank. Additionally, while skiing in Chamonix, it started snowing, and we discovered the tire chains provided by the store were too small and couldn't be put on. Unfortunately, we had to waste half a day waiting for the snow on the ground to melt before heading out.
Would have been nice to have a blue parking disc, first time I have received a car without it. Had a question on the rental, provided with wrong email and phone number for the local branch, corporate email went to the UK and were promised an answer in 'normal response time' still waiting..
This rental company is terrible. The worst thing about them is their sneaky behavior of adding extra fees without notifying customers and then denying it every time. During this rental experience, I opted for unlimited mileage, but at drop-off, they charged me over 2000 euros for exceeding the mileage limit. Terrible company. This is my second complaint about this company, and there will be a third and fourth—I will publish all of them.
