The car was in terrible condition, extremely old and rundown. It is far older than the claimed 2016 model—likely a decade or more old. It's absolutely not worth the rental price. While driving on the highway in the rain, the windshield wipers were rusty and broke apart as soon as I used them, making it impossible to see the road clearly. This car is unacceptable. Be cautious when renting here, as such poor-quality vehicles should not be offered for rental and cause trouble for customers.
The vehicle was fine, but the service felt very poor. They didn’t provide a highway toll card, claiming it was out of stock. They offered to sell one but charged an additional 20. Such cards are widely available, for example, at 7-Eleven or gas stations, and do not require extra fees. Picking up the car one hour late incurred an additional charge of over 80 MYR. Returning the car at Terminal 2 also required an extra fee of over 30 MYR. Honestly, it’s hard to understand.
This rental car company is terrible, their attitude is extremely poor. I picked up the car at 8 PM, and shortly after driving out, I noticed the car's display screen was malfunctioning. I stopped at the nearest gas station and tried restarting the engine, but the issue persisted. I called the store and was told the display screen was already problematic. Why couldn't they tell me earlier? They said the car itself was fine and I could continue driving it. It was already late, around 8 or 9 PM, so I decided to drive it back to my hotel first (the car worked fine except for the screen issue). The next day, the customer service at their store apologized profusely and offered to swap the car for a different one, so I went there. However, they didn't have the same model available, and the alternative couldn't fit all my luggage. I decided to just keep the original car since I had no choice. The customer service rep offered to compensate me with half a tank of fuel as an apology. I rented the car for three days at a cost of nearly 1,800 RMB, and just swapping the car cost me half a day. I don't even know the value of half a tank of fuel. To make matters worse, when I returned the car this morning, the airport staff accused me of returning the car with less fuel than it should have. I tried explaining, but she wouldn't listen. Imagine dealing with an unreasonable person like a market vendor—she kept saying her piece, and I kept saying mine. My daily rental cost was 600 RMB, and a full tank of gas might cost at most 400 RMB. The critical issue is that as a foreigner renting a car in another country, discovering a problem within 3 kilometers of driving is utterly unsettling. There was no explanation, no transparency, and no apology. This rental company clearly doesn't value their customers' safety and feelings, thinking that compensating with half a tank of fuel is enough. Moreover, their store's customer service and airport staff have no communication whatsoever. The airport staff clearly doesn’t care; they're just employees, and they know nothing. Avoid this rental company—it’s a trap. While my English is okay, those who are not confident in English will likely struggle even more. To sum it up: it's absolutely the worst experience. I've never encountered anything worse.
