Rented a car for 4 days. The platform mentioned there would be a Chinese contract, but there wasn’t one! Aside from the fees prepaid on the platform, an additional 120 AED was charged onsite, claimed to be taxes, but it felt excessive. It’s unclear how much extra will be charged during pickup, as the platform couldn’t provide an answer and said it depends on the onsite process. I might consider renting directly onsite in the future.
The rental was inexpensive, but the service attitude during pickup and return was problematic. I rented an SUV but was given a Nissan, which was very new and I was satisfied with the vehicle. However, the staff attitude was poor, maybe because there were too many people and they were overwhelmed.
The condition of the car was excellent; it was a new car with only around 1700 kilometers driven. Unfortunately, I made a mistake by selecting the wrong return date, which led to paying extra for an additional day. Still, the price offered by the QEEQ platform was the most competitive.
As someone who has rented cars across five continents, I strongly advise everyone to avoid this rental company. Their car return inspection process is exactly the same as the schemes of rental companies in Sanya, forcing me to bear significant losses. Of course, if you don't mind inspecting the car for twenty minutes under 45-degree heat in Dubai, you might still consider it.
We purchased full insurance, but when the windshield had a small crack, they still required us to go to the police station to file a report ourselves. We had to pay an additional 420 Dirhams for the report, making the full insurance essentially useless.
Furthermore, the staff had a bad attitude and provided incorrect information about the police station. While we were rushing to catch a flight, we had to visit two police stations during heavy traffic because the rental company staff were unprofessional and failed to provide the correct procedure.
Different return branches were also passing the responsibility around, blaming each other!
The overall experience was terrible! By far the worst I've ever had!
Very satisfied. After exiting customs at T3, the counter is easy to find. Two Filipino ladies provided great service, though the waiting time was a bit long—about 20 minutes to get the paperwork done. The car had only 4000 kilometers on it and was almost brand new, with no scratches.
Pros: The location is right at the airport exit, making it very easy to find. The rental process was quick, and the car was relatively new. We rented it for 11 days, and overall there were no major issues. However, the car's audio system was terrible, which might be due to the Nissan Kicks itself.
Cons: First, I suspect the car might have been in an accident before. The trunk door was full of glass shards, and after driving on bumpy roads, the glass shards scattered all over the trunk. This also caused the rear-view camera to be misaligned, which almost led to a collision while reversing. These were minor issues, though.
Second, we planned to cross the border from the UAE to Oman, traveling from Dubai to Abu Dhabi on the 5th and then from Abu Dhabi to Oman on the 8th. To do this, we needed an NOC document for border clearance. The rental office at the airport told us to come to the airport location between 3-6 PM on the 5th to collect the document and pay the fee. They said it had to be processed at their location and needed two days to prepare. I specifically emphasized that we would cross the border on the 8th and return on the 13th, not the 5th and 12th. On the 5th, when I arrived at the airport, I expected to pick up the document and leave quickly. However, the staff seemed clueless as if they had forgotten, and told me to wait 10 minutes. In the end, I waited 30 minutes. The airport parking fee is calculated by the minute; after 40 minutes, it cost me 80 RMB. Fine, I let that slide. But on the 8th, when I was preparing to cross the border, I discovered that the document was issued with the wrong dates—5th to the 12th instead of 8th to the 13th. I had a booked hotel reservation for the 13th, so I had to find the rental company in Abu Dhabi to correct the document. This not only delayed my trip by an entire day, but I also found out that I could have processed the border clearance document at any branch, not necessarily the airport. Not only was the document issued incorrectly, but I also had to unnecessarily pay for airport parking. To make matters worse, when I modified the document in Abu Dhabi, the staff told me it only takes 30 minutes to issue it. So why did I waste two days earlier? This is ridiculous. I will also post this experience on Xiaohongshu to help others avoid this trap!
Advantages: The location is right at the airport exit, making it very easy to find. The rental process is quick, and the car was fairly new. I rented it for 11 days, and overall, it worked well with no major issues. However, the sound system was quite poor, which might be a problem inherent to the Nissan Kicks itself.
Disadvantages: First, I suspect the car might have been in an accident. The trunk door was full of shattered glass, which shook all over the trunk when driving on bumpy roads. Additionally, the rearview camera video was tilted because of this, almost causing me to scrape the car while reversing. But these were minor issues. Second, we planned to cross the border from the UAE to Oman—on the 5th, we traveled from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, and on the 8th, we would head to Oman—so we needed the rental company to issue an NOC document for border crossing. The airport rental location staff told us to come back on the 5th between 3-6 pm to pick up the document and pay the fee. They insisted it had to be done at this location and mentioned the document would take two days to process. I specifically emphasized that our border crossing would happen on the 8th and return on the 13th, not crossing on the 5th and returning on the 12th. On the 5th, when I arrived at the airport, I thought it would be straightforward to collect the document and leave, but the staff looked puzzled, as though they had forgotten. They asked me to wait 10 minutes, but it ended up taking half an hour. Since airport parking fees are calculated minute-by-minute, I was charged 80 RMB after 40 minutes. This was frustrating, but what was worse was that on the 8th when I was preparing to cross the border, I discovered the documents had the wrong dates—listed as crossing on the 5th and returning on the 12th. Since I had hotel bookings for the 13th, I had to find a local rental office in Abu Dhabi to get the documents corrected. Not only did this delay my itinerary by an entire day, but I also learned that the border-crossing documents can be processed at any rental office, not just the airport location. Adding to the frustration, Abu Dhabi staff told me the correction only takes half an hour. So what was the point of the two-day wait I was told before? This was completely misleading. I’ll be posting about this on Xiaohongshu to help others avoid this pitfall!
Overall, it was quite good, but when traveling to Oman for border crossing procedures, we had to return to the airport, which temporarily altered our plans for the day. It took at least an hour and a half to obtain the NOC certificate, forcing us to pay an additional parking fee of 40 dirhams, which was indeed puzzling.
I chose this local rental company because of the high ratings. They upgraded us to an MG, which was in great condition, easy to drive, and equipped with CarPlay and a rearview camera.
I strongly advise fellow travelers visiting Dubai not to rent from this company. It's better to choose reputable global chains. 1. They lure customers with seemingly low prices but impose many hidden charges, including deliberately charging for not returning the car with a full tank and exorbitant airport parking fees. 2. Their cars claim to be able to cross borders for self-driving trips, but in reality, due to current policies, some countries won't allow you to pass. Contact immigration authorities yourself instead of trusting the rental company—I was stopped at the border. At the time, I wondered why only their cars could cross, but later found out I was deceived. 3. They charged over 500 AED on my credit card, including many completely fabricated items, with some charges reaching absurd levels. It's best to choose a reputable global chain rental company to avoid these post-rental headaches and unnecessary frustration.
