However, when I arrived at the store to pick up the car, they insisted that I had an outstanding payment, and I had to clear it on the spot. Carpool quoted $12.99 for three days, but it turned out to be $12.99 per day. I also asked about the fuel charges when picking up the car and the staff said I didn't need to worry about it, but I was charged a much higher amount later.

To summarize, I paid for an Audi Q5 but was given a Toyota Corolla, the smallest model. After complaining, they reimbursed me $44... I rented the car for 5 days, and the refund didn't even cover the price difference for one day. By the way, the rental company was 'Fox Rent a Car' in Los Angeles, so be cautious.

The local company Fox in Los Angeles is quite problematic. Europecar partners with Fox locally and they will try to charge you additional fees at pickup, telling you there are no cars available unless you pay more. There were many people at the door complaining about why they couldn't pick up their reserved cars. The staff explained that making a reservation only guarantees you can come to the store, not that you will get a car. Also, I returned the car with a full tank, but I was still charged over 20 USD.

There were too few Fox shuttle buses, and it seemed like there was only one. Especially at night, we waited for about an hour and a half after arriving in Los Angeles before a shuttle finally came to pick us up. The experience was very poor, and the service awareness was incredibly lacking. If we hadn’t called customer service using a domestic VoIP service, we really wouldn’t have known how long we had to wait. We waited from 10:30 PM until 12:30 AM.

Fuel fees were precharged, and as per the agreement, if the fuel is not full upon return, the charge should be based on the precharged price. However, the bill showed fuel charges calculated at the higher rate for uncharged fuel.

Operated by Fox, the car pickup process was quick. The staff provided a Nissan Kick, but due to concerns about the visibility of the trunk and safety, I requested a change. The front desk promptly replaced it with a Jetta, which had a larger trunk capacity and fully met my needs.

It's been a while since I experienced something like this. Rented a car for 53 days, and on the 30th day, the rental company charged $980.11, nearly 7,000 RMB. After returning to my country, I wouldn't have noticed this kind of malicious charge by the rental company if I hadn't carefully checked my credit card statements. Currently in the process of resolving this issue. I recommend avoiding Europe Car and Fox rental companies.
