Volta is not a good company; they are just a middleman. The actual rental was from a local company called Marathon. The airport branch had great service and informed us that after returning the car, they offered a free shuttle bus to the port in Rhodes. We rented a Nissan Qashqai, which was too old. It still used CDs and had no screen, so we couldn't connect Apple CarPlay or navigate the map. The Bluetooth could connect to the phone, supposedly to hear navigation, but that didn’t work either. No backup sensors or camera, and the rear right light was broken and not repaired.

Volta is not a good company. They are just an agent. The actual rental company was a local one called Marathon. The service at the airport location was good. They informed us that after returning the car, they could provide a free shuttle bus to the port to catch a ferry to Rhodes island. We rented a Nissan Qashqai. The car was very old, still using CDs with no screen, so no Apple CarPlay for navigation. We couldn’t see the map. The Bluetooth could connect to the phone, but we couldn’t hear the navigation instructions. The car had no reversing radar or rearview camera. It was in poor condition. The right rear light was broken and not repaired.

On returning the car a 1cm scratch was found underneath the rear of the car. The staff went straight to it although it was out of sight but did little to inspect the rest of the car. They then charged me EU50, which he wanted in cash but I paid by credit card, but stamped my return invoice as no damage. This is obviously a scam but when you have a flight to catch you have no time to argue.

Dislike: The gasoline supposed to be full to full, but it was only up 6/8 !!! It means when you return the car it’s hard to fill up the same and usually people return it with more. I find it cheating from companie.

This rental company does not have a counter at the airport. They only had a person with a handwritten sign waiting for us, which was not very visible, so it took a while to find him. When processing the rental, he led us to some seats outside the airport. He also charged extra for a second driver. The deposit was 1800 euros. We rented a car from them for the first three days, and from another company for the last three days which only required a deposit of ¥650.

On arrival night there was no meet and greet,i phoned the number provided it did not ring out. I asked a taxi driver if he knew goldcar lucky he did I had to pay him 10 euros. When I got to goldcar the guy charged me 21 euros extra I don’t know why he tried to explain but I could not understand him not happy with hidden charge,I had the full insurance and brought the car back full tank but did not get my 21 euros back.

With the help of the online service representative, we avoided the extra charge. They retaliated against us and used discriminatory and malicious language towards Chinese people.

After 40 minutes on the phone no solution was offered. We then discovered the call was to Singapore. UK Mobile to Singapore!!!

Green Motion were uncontactable. We were not arriving on a flight because we were already on Rhodes so we needed to contact them regarding picking up the car at the airport. We tried 17 times and got no reply from Green Motion. A lady from a different car rental company helped us to find them. This is not a good start to a car hire experience!!!

The website mentioned that the car pickup was inside the airport, but upon arrival, it turned out to be incorrect. There was only a reception area inside the airport, and we had to take a shuttle for over ten minutes to reach the pickup point. I paid extra because I thought the pickup was inside the airport.
