You can walk to the counter of Dollar - Honolulu International Airport car rental.

On airport rental car offices are located on the ground level of the Terminal 2 Parking Garage. Car rental shuttles stop in designated areas along the center median on the ground level outside of baggage claim areas. For Hawaiian Airlines and commuter terminals, proceed outside the baggage claim to the curb marked rental car for the consolidated rental car shuttle bus. All other arrivals should proceed to the cross walk between baggage claim E and F, cross the street to the rental car center on the ground level of the parking garage. Reference the blue rental car center signs located on pillars outside baggage claim area.

Drop-off Instructions

ホノルルに空港に着いて、借りる時、事前に、先ずはレンタカーのシャトルバス乗り場に行って、今回借りる「Dolla」社名を係に伝える。と言う案内が有れば、迷わずに済んだ。また、借りる手続きの際、返却方法をきちんと説明して欲しかった。返却の場所への道案内が無かったので、早めにホテルを出て返却しようとしたのですが、やはり空港周辺道路をぐるぐると迷い、危うく帰りの飛行機のチェックインに間に合わなくなるところでした。返却時の道案内が必要です。

This store has very low ratings on Google Maps. It is located at a distance from the airport, making it quite far to walk, and there are basically no sidewalks, which makes it very difficult. Additionally, their shuttle service is hard to find, and there are no clear signs indicating where to catch the shuttle. I couldn’t find the shuttle after searching for a long time, so I ended up walking... it was very hot. The staff indeed try to upsell extra insurance, giving various reasons why you need it. When picking up the car, we agreed that returning it an hour late would not incur extra charges, but when I returned the car five minutes past the agreed time, the system automatically charged me for an extra day. After noticing the discrepancy on the receipt, I complained to the return staff, who directed me to the pickup staff. After expressing my dissatisfaction, the pickup staff canceled the extra day's charge. Overall, although this store isn't exactly terrible, you need to be extra careful...

It took over an hour to process the paperwork because there were so many people in line, yet only three staff members. Even worse, picking up the car took another hour. We had a lot of luggage, so we upgraded to a larger vehicle, but they gave us an old Ford that didn't match the pictures at all. It had over 50,000 miles and an oil warning light was on. Complaining didn't help, we'll never use this company again.

Very dissatisfied. They repeatedly tried to upsell third-party liability insurance, and after I refused, they gave me a Buick Regal. Have you ever seen anyone driving a Buick on American roads? Clearly, it was a car they couldn't rent out. After refusing, they insisted on upgrading to an SUV. After an hour of back and forth, I finally got the car I wanted. I will never use Dollar again for car rentals. The return process was smooth with no extra charges. I won't come back to Honolulu again; it feels just like Tokyo with Japanese stores everywhere, heavy traffic, high prices, small hotels, poor beaches, and water too cold to swim. The cost-performance ratio is extremely low.

The queueing time during car pickup was very long, and they kept trying to sell additional services. When returning the car, I handed the keys to the rental company staff, but they insisted that I hadn't returned the keys and arbitrarily charged $250. It was hard to find the car as it was located near pillar 58, and returning the car was even more difficult. You have to rely on road signs and can't fully trust the navigation. My phone fell off in the car, and when I went back to email them about it being lost, they couldn't find it either.

However, the sales pitch was quite frequent—they recommended upgrading to an SUV and offered various types of insurance like lost keys and traffic ticket coverage, which seemed odd.
