The car was dirty inside and outside - when we pointed it out, we were told to bring in the similar - dirty - condition. We drove it from Venice to the mountains during winter and it happens to snow it winter, we were not provided winter tires so when we tried to climb a main road during snowing we were stuck on the road. We found a snow-tire socks in the trunk and used them. After returning the we were charged 45 Euro for using those sock. Invoice stated: Penalty for restoring snow chains/snow socks So good luck if you drive in mountains during winter.

Although the guy did not admit it, it was evident that he damaged the car while inspecting it to charge us. In the end, after showing the pictures, the guy changed the subject and received the car without any complaints or so.

Audi A3 diesel is a good and low km car. However it took over 90 mins to get served and receive the car. Other patrons had the same experience - we were not alone. Car arrived dirty, damaged and with low oil warning light on. I've never had to add oil for a hire car before. Europcar later tried to blame me for damages to the vehicle, thankfully we took many pics on receipt of the vehicle to prove our innocence. Customer service at Europcar have been unresponsive to emails throughout the experience.

We have had very serious trouble with charges from Maggiore amounting to many Euroes. The reason is that Maggiore did not register our car properly (we ordered a BMW 3-series, but was given a 1-series - that was to small for us. Thus we changed to a Audi Q3 that was OK. But the person that got the BMW that we should have had was speeding and somehow the car was still registred on us... I have now received a fine from Italian police from a person driving a BMW at a location that I have never been. I was climbing mountains at the same time... The Maggiore will have to reimburse med for all the fines they have charged direkctely to my credit card and have to contatct italian poice (V/90746490X/2018) to have them cancel the fine.

I arrived in Venice at 10:15 pm and the employee at the pick up told me that, had I arrived after 11:00pm, I would have been charged of 45 Euros, a penalty that is not mentioned in the contract "since it doesn't happen often"! This is a very serious and unfair violation of a correct communication to the customers. I am not questioning the choice of the company about charging extra money for late evening pick-ups, I am greatly disappointed that the company doesn't mention it in the contract. I can't accept this way of behaving, I am not going to recommend Sicily by car if this lack of communication doesn't change.

Do not rent from Ecovia/Autovia. I picked up the car at the airport, drove it to a gated residence, and parked it and didn't drive it again until I returned the car to the airport. When I returned the car, they found a "scratch" on the Back of the mirror and Ecovia wants to charge me about $160. This is a ridiculous and frivolous charge. First, it was late at night, dark and rainy when I picked up the car. I did a cursory inspection of the vehicle but who checks the back of the mirror for scratches? No American company would charge you for this. Just look at the attached picture ! I'm sure the scratch was already on the car when I picked it up because it was parked undisturbed in a garage at a residence. Maybe I was penalized for not purchasing their insurance. I appealed the charge to Ecovia/Autovia to no avail. The other practice that this company did was to give me the car with the tank 2/8ths full of gas. When this happens, the customer Always returns the car with more gas because he/she does not want to be charged. The customer deserves a car with a full tank of gas at pick-up. Start-up rental companies like Ecovia with unethical practices like this should be avoided. They drive you to the major car rentals where you know you will pay more but they won't try to screw you like Ecovia is doing to me. The low price isn't always a good deal. It bothers me that this company is getting away with screwing me on such a frivolous charge. Just look at the picture. I will not rent from Ecovia again. Buyer beware of Ecovia/Autovia!

I clarified prior to booking the car to make sure that I can drive the car into Bosnia and I even clarified again when I picked up the car. Everyone said there won't be any issues, but I was not able to enter Bosnia when I came to the boarder. It's in the law that a original green card is needed to enter Bosnia. Alamo just gave me a copy and said it will be good enough. I had to leave the car and get a taxi to Bosnia and rent another car. I do want a refund on the car.

Counter staff were horrendous. We had planned on adding a driver and potentially taking out extra insurance. The counter staff scoffed at us when she found out we ordered a panda. "good luck" was the response when she saw the buggy and intimated it would never fit. She also used the words "up sell" constantly without giving any insight into what we were getting in the up sell, just that we had to have it in order to get xxx. I work in tech sales and I would never ever tell a client "oh in order to get xxx you need to buy an upsell" invest in a consultative sales team. If the staff had of said something like "we can't offer xxx on the base package unfortunately, but we can upgrade you for £xx and you will be able to get what you want plus all these other benefits" the experience would have been far better.
