Car was new but we had to wait to complete the paperwork at the office then walk to the pick up point in the car park. Car was being washed and took 20 minutes to be delivered,
Price was excellent. Staff helpful
Forced to purchase full insurance at Rome airport, staff mocked Chinese customers as troublesome. The car tire burst at 7 a.m. on the highway, but the so-called 24/7 roadside assistance didn’t respond at all. Unable to contact roadside assistance, I had to use the highway SOS service, which led to an extra charge of 325 euros from the rental company and full deduction of the 300 euro deposit. Even the locals in Italy consider this company terrible. Full insurance couldn't even offer peace of mind. Value your safety and avoid this rental company at all costs.
The car return process was terrible. The person in charge of inspecting the car tried their best to find flaws after learning that we had full insurance from a third-party provider rather than their company. I had carefully taken videos of all the scratches and damages when picking up the car, so they couldn't point out any issues with the car's body. In the end, they went to the extreme of using a flashlight to check the windshield and pointed to a tiny 1mm white dot, claiming the glass was damaged. They spent half an hour finding three small white dots and demanded insurance be used for repairs. I've rented cars many times before, but this was the first time encountering such nitpicking behavior. Truly awful!
1. The rental company downgraded the vehicle and insisted that Lexus and Ford Kuga are of the same class.
2. Charged two deposits of 1800 euros each, which feels like buying the car outright.
The overall service was acceptable, but they kept emphasizing that the insurance bought through the Zuzuche platform was not related to them, and continuously recommended us to purchase their own insurance on-site. We refused multiple times, yet they kept explaining persistently. We rented two cars, and for the first car, we ended up buying the full coverage insurance they recommended for €184, after which they finally continued the process. The more I thought about it, the more it felt wrong, because we had already purchased full coverage. So, I contacted Zuzuche's customer service, which was great—available 24/7—and they informed me that we could refuse their insurance. For the second car, we firmly rejected their insurance, and the deposit changed from €100 to €800, and the process was completed.
“They try to get you on extras. Also take a detailed video (inside and outside) of car!”
About NOLEGGIARE:6.0/10
First of all, super, super hard sell on insurance by counter staff. Just show that you have bought insurance and stand your ground. They tried scare tactics, shrug as if you are being really dumb etc. Print and bring along your insurance - the moment they see it they will stop saying things like you are not covered.
Then... thankfully because I read earlier reviews, I took a good video of the car at the collection point. They inspected the car super carefully at return and picked up on the smallest of dings which other companies do not do. The moment I said I had a video and could show proof, they did not press the matter. They said the boot cover was missing, I said it did not have one at pick up, "want to see the video?" and then they just dropped the issue.
About QEEQ:7.0/10
QEEQ was great! Follow advice given carefully. Print out your insurance document from QEEQ.
When picking up the car, I had to wait for three hours as there were no cars available initially, but they eventually provided an upgraded model. The staff was very thorough and advised taking photos of even the minor scratches during the inspection. This is important as the person inspecting the car upon return might be different, and having evidence makes explanations easier. Overall, the car's condition was very good!
The overall experience was quite poor. First, the car provided was not the model indicated during booking. Second, the rental company aggressively pushed for full insurance. Moreover, we had to pay extra for a car model we initially selected as a possible option during booking.
I have tried to send the confimation to you seven times and all were rejected. You have the information you requested and this is bullshit to take up so much time. I should get the credit for the rental with QEEQ and if not will NEVER USE YOU AGAIN.
Staff was very particular of scrapes on the cars with other customers. We got out without too much problems. We video taped the condition of the car at pickup.
I would have been happier had we received the car we had ordered. But as mentioned, it all worked out well in the end. The counter customer staff was all hard sell on the extra insurance, though, and I practically has to be rude to get away from them.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
QEEQ did everything they said they would; I had no issues with navigating selections of available rentals.
Overall good, but the concern still happened: the actual car was different from the one reserved. Although the rental company claimed it was an upgrade, the Range Rover Evoque costs around 200,000 RMB, while the BMW 5 Series Touring is over 500,000 RMB in China. The main issue was the trunk size—it was much smaller, leaving space for only one suitcase after removing another (the suitcase was valued at 2,600 RMB). Returned the car ten days early.
