The service attitude was terrible. Since we didn't purchase insurance at the store (we had already bought full insurance through the rental platform), the staff kept complaining about us and tried to force us to buy insurance, delaying the pickup process. It took about 30 minutes to complete the pickup. The same staff handled the car return and was also very aggressive towards us. The whole trip was ruined because of this awful car rental experience.

The staff at the local branch had a fairly good attitude, and the car pickup and return process was quick and convenient. However, the car model we reserved was unavailable at first, and the staff didn't tell the truth. They offered us a free upgrade to an electric car instead, but since the local charging station infrastructure was inadequate, we refused. Only after persistent requests did they finally arrange a similar 5-seater compact SUV for us.

Complaints about Langsa Car Rental: 1. My morning flight was quite punctual, and I arrived about ten minutes early, but they refused to give me the car, saying only large vehicles were available and it would cost extra. 2. After going to the restroom, I returned to find eight or nine people already in line. When I asked if I could get the car since I had arrived earlier, they told me to queue up, which wasted an hour. Since I only planned a one-day trip, this caused me to cancel a key attraction, the 'Swiss Cultural Village.' 3. When I finally got the car, I was stunned. I had booked a Mazda CX-5, a medium-small SUV. Apparently, they didn’t have smaller cars available and gave me a large vehicle instead. However, it wasn't your typical medium-large SUV. It turned out to be a bulky and cumbersome Toyota pickup truck, a type of vehicle I had never driven before. Luckily, I was traveling alone because if there were more people, there wouldn’t have been an enclosed trunk space for luggage. I have no idea why they assigned me such an undesirable car, but since time was tight, I had no choice but to hit the road. 4. This vehicle was heavy and had a diesel engine, which performed poorly. The acceleration was extremely sluggish, fuel consumption was high, and diesel is more expensive. The transmission made strange noises and revved up to 3,000 RPM while coasting downhill without pressing the accelerator. Handling was poor, especially on winding mountain roads. Despite typically managing to beat estimated map times without breaking traffic rules, this time I struggled just to match them. It severely affected both my schedule and energy levels. The only slight advantage of the pickup was handling rough roads reasonably well. While I didn’t actively seek off-road terrain, I experienced a short stretch of about a few dozen meters during some roadwork. 5. This oversized vehicle lacked a rearview camera, making parking inconvenient. 6. Either the low beams were absent, or they weren’t functioning, forcing me to use high beams at dusk, which annoyed oncoming drivers and increased the risk of accidents. At night, the headlights attracted many small insects to the windshield, impairing visibility. When I attempted to clean the windshield, I found there was no washer fluid available, and dry wiping was ineffective. 7. Before returning the car, I searched for a gas station near the airport but couldn’t find one. The staff, who had promised to be available until 9 PM, were gone when I arrived a little after 8 PM. I couldn’t return the vehicle with a full tank. Subsequently, I was charged over 200 AUD for refueling three bars of diesel, even though earlier I had refueled half a tank (four bars) myself for only 40.4 AUD.

The actual payment was about 10 dollars more than the order amount, supposedly as a handling fee, which I didn't understand. When I rented a car along the Great Ocean Road, there was no such fee.

Overall good experience. We purchased full insurance on QEEQ, and there was no additional upselling here. AVIS had the longest queue, and we waited for about twenty minutes, but the process itself was quick. We originally booked a Subaru but were given a Toyota CHR instead. The car had over 30,000 kilometers on it, but it worked perfectly during our road trip.

1. Booked a Mitsubishi ASX but received an MG ZS, with different trunk space. More importantly, the review options did not include the received model, making evaluation impossible. Only after complaining did customer service add the model, allowing this review. 2. When picking up the car, additional driver documentation was required. Despite calling the platform twice and emailing once, the addition was not successful. Three hours before the car handover, customer service finally called, confirming the addition and requesting payment. Their attitude was poor and unprofessional. So far, there have been nearly 10 complaints with no resolution in sight.

I booked a Toyota Corolla and got a Holden Astra which was more familiar to me and it included cruise control and Apple Car Play - big tick. Counter staff was very helpful and drop off experience was good as well. Booster seat was installed and ready to go. Drove 1100km and the car performed very well and never missed a beat apart from the oil change warning that came up every time the ignition was turned on.

After a long wait, security at the terminal empathised my situation and guided me to the workshop where I finally found someone from Alamo washing the car. He was unaware of any booking and contacted the manager. Finally, someone arrived after 30-45 mins wait to complete paperworks and handover keys.
