The KIA van we got was huge. Exactly enough space for 6 adults, 6 big suitcase and 4 carry-on sized bags. The car was clean on the outside, some dirt on the floor, which was difficult to remove as the car had no floor mats. We had to fill up the window flusher liquid, as it was totally empty upon pick up. The car performed great and was a breeze to drive long distance.

The pick up and drop off process took 60-75 minutes from reaching the airport to departing with the car (and vice versa). Extremely slow due to the shuttle process (waited 30-45 minutes both ways). The counter staff is reasonably pleasant, but the shuttle service is quite poor. The ideal service would be to wait less than 10 minutes on each side and this is far from that!

However, I don't recommend this company because if you don't choose the zero excess full insurance, they require an extremely high deposit (I didn't encounter this issue at other companies, nor was I informed about it beforehand when booking). Other companies usually refund within a few days to a week, but it's been over two weeks since I returned the car and I still haven't received the refund.

This car rental involved picking up the vehicle in Sydney and returning it in Melbourne, so I will describe it in sections.
Vehicle usage: The MG ZS is a 1.5L naturally aspirated car with decent power. However, it slightly lacks when overtaking. The trunk can comfortably fit two 28-inch suitcases and one 20-inch suitcase. The features are also satisfactory.
Please refer to the pickup and drop-off instructions below!!
Follow-up: Due to discrepancies in the pickup and drop-off times between me and the rental company, they charged me for an extra day. Fortunately, I had photo evidence to support my case. RentRent’s customer service was excellent and resolved the issue perfectly. Therefore, I strongly advise everyone to take photos of the rental and return times—this is very important!

The salesperson was new and not very familiar with the procedures. Kangaroos in Australia often jump onto the road, and I saw at least seven or eight kangaroo carcasses by the roadside. Unfortunately, I also hit one this time. There was no warning about the kangaroo issue or any reminder to purchase full insurance. Secondly, the explanation of the car rental company's basic insurance was unclear. It seemed to cover damages under $25,000, but in reality, costs under $25,000 are the driver's responsibility.

From a consumer's perspective, firstly, the actual service provider is Europcar and has nothing to do with Shouqi. During the rental period, I was rear-ended. I have photos and the other driver’s license contact information, which clearly shows I am not responsible. I contacted Zuzuche, and while their communication was straightforward with at least some follow-up, Europcar’s customer service was mostly AI email auto-replies. After returning the car, I still received emails from the claims department, making me feel that the earlier discussions were wasted and I had to go through the same process all over again, communicating the same things multiple times. It was very time-consuming.

The staff had a poor attitude and kept pushing insurance even though I told them I already purchased one. They tried to scare me by saying it wasn't the same and that if there were repairs, they could directly charge over $6000 from my card (though the actual authorization was only $1000, so I don't understand why they claimed over $6000). The vehicle they provided was bad; it lacked power and struggled on uphill roads. When I returned the car to the address listed on the order, the staff lazily told me to drive to another parking lot instead. Driving in the city center was challenging, and I was in a rush. When I finally got there, the entry required a password, but the password they gave was incorrect. I had to drive back to the original address listed on the order. It was an exhausting experience! I've self-driven in many countries before, but I've never encountered such an unreliable rental company. Avoid this company at all costs; it was a hard lesson learned!

The overall experience for both picking up and dropping off this car was quite poor: When picking up the car, there was a system error at the rental company, and I was initially given a large business vehicle. I had to return to the airport counter to exchange it for the car I reserved, a Subaru Forester. However, they didn’t have a Forester available at the time and gave me a similar Mazda instead (I’m not sure of the specific model). To avoid further delays, I accepted the Mazda, but its interior and luggage space were smaller than the Forester. When returning the car, I was in a rush to catch a flight and didn’t refuel. Later, I noticed a charge of over 330 AUD for fuel on my credit card, whereas normally refueling would cost only 60 AUD. I filed a complaint with Zuzuche's customer service, and they responded promptly, stating that the rental company would refund the excess charge to my card within 7-10 business days. I’m still waiting to see if this refund will happen on time. Additionally, this drop-off point charges exorbitant airport construction fees!

Initially booked a Toyota Corolla but was given a Toyota Yaris instead. The Yaris was quite noisy. When picking up the car, the vehicle couldn't connect to the navigation system. The staff tried for a while and then said it was broken. Later, the connection worked intermittently. When involved in an accident, calling the rental company took more than half an hour to reach someone after numerous transfers. After that, there were no instructions given, just asked us to reply via email. Upon returning the car, there was no significant acknowledgment, just a simple 'ok, ok.' Later that day, they charged the maximum authorized amount to the credit card. For a minor collision, they charged the maximum; what if it was a serious collision?

Car given was diff from what I intended. But it's better car than expected. Service staff was honest to admit the wrong discount given for empty fuel tank on picking up of car. Refund was noted but need to wait for credit card bill to confirm refund is given.

Or why the customer service person did not call for the car when we first arrived. Why did she call after the paperwork was all done and then we had to stand around waiting. A fantastic off the airport rental agency. The staff were very polite, picked us up within 10mins of calling them from the curb. Wish they had taken a little less time to get us going but things happen so that was ok. Overall a fantastic experience, the $$ savings were mind boggling.

When I started looking on skyscanner, the deal was showing unlimited kms, when I went to carhood, they would not allow me even 20 more kms and they said they will not cancel the booking either and I will be losing my money. I was told pick up would be at 9, they came to pick up at 9:50. For almost an hour I was waiting out in cold for them to pick me up. I was going to take the car to Canberra for a meeting and hoping to leave at 9 in the morning, I eventually left at 11 because of everything with the booking and the rude behaviour of their staff. NEVER EVER booking through them again.

Dissatisfied. Reserved a Toyota Kluger, but the counter said only Pajero was available. In the end, we got an Outlander. It was downgraded several classes. Originally, other companies offered Outlander at less than half the price of Enterprise, but we chose this company to get a Kluger. In the end, we still got an Outlander. Very unhappy.

I rented a Toyota van but they gave me an SAIC Maxus van. I had to pay extra to upgrade to a Toyota van. The car arrived with many scratches, and I didn't take photos of all of them, just a few obvious ones. On the second night, the tire got a puncture and I had to deal with it myself. Late at night, there was no help available. Despite buying a lot of insurance, it was useless. They told me things that sounded reasonable but were very frustrating. The child seat they provided was not suitable, and they told me to just put up with it in a very unprofessional manner. I've rented cars many times during my 20-day trip in Australia, but this was the worst experience. They pre-authorized a $800 AUD deposit, saying they would deduct $500 AUD for insurance claims that wouldn't be refunded. I was rushing to catch a flight and accepted my bad luck, thinking $500 AUD would be a lesson learned. Today I see they deducted the entire $800 AUD. It's a scam.

The car rental process was very slow, and they didn't know how to install the car seat. When returning the car, there was no staff around, and I waited for a long time with no one showing up. I ended up spending 15 AUD on a taxi to the airport. The deposit hasn't been refunded yet, and they directly charged my card instead of pre-authorizing it. I have no idea why.
