Very good car experience, good condition,I booked a gasoline Alphard, and the store gave me a free upgrade to the hybrid Alphard. It’s really great! the car is very new! The interior of the car is so clean it’s unbelievable! Friendly service staff, very enthusiastic and professional. Mobile phone charging cables and mobile phone holders are prepared for us. The procedure for picking up and returning the car is very simple. It is recommended to purchase comprehensive insurance so you don’t have to worry about scratches while driving along the way. I will choose A rentals company next time I come to New Zealand. Highly recommended!

Car was pretty old, with 160,000 miles on it. All four tyres were low and had to be pumped up. The paint on the hood and roof was mostly worn off. Mechanically it was fine. Car was advertised as a "6-person minivan" -- but it was far smaller than I had expected. I would call it a station wagon, not a minivan at all. I talked with BRC about exchanging it, and they were not interested. They only offered to have me pay 3x as much for a full-size van. They would not allow me to return the car early so I could rent from elsewhere.

Was a bit confused about drop off (picked up in Hertz spot but was a Dollar rental, not sure where to drop off but figured it out) However when we arrived home found I was charged and extra $25 for fuel. We filled it to full 1km from the airport and have photo proof that the gauge was full. Took about 40 minutes of calling and emailing to try to get this sorted. This was already charged to my credit card without any consultation with me. Still waiting for resolution.

The vehicle looked great in the photos shown, however on closer inspection it had small scratches and dents. The staff member was ( prompt) showing me a handful of wide angle pictures but no close ups revealing damage. Most of the transfers I have done have a system where you get a drawing of the vehicle and ALL damage is marked on inspection. This let's the driver point out any unforseen blemishes etc. To be honest there was nothing noted and that left me feeling vulnerable. I made sure I filmed the vehicle and pointed out all the marks, dents, blemishes. At the return desk in Greymouth the counter lady was nice and polite, but qestions were raised about one one small dent by the fuel flap. I showed my video footage at Christchurch Airport and any pictures that detailed the small ding. In my opinion there was lack of communication. All the damage should be photographed and logged in the system so staff can identify past damage. The reason I am pointing this out is because I've done more then 40 transfers for transfer car and not experienced this before. Apart from that, happy with the overall experience. Thanks kindly

Impossible to reach them on the phone without having to wait minimum 30 min. Probably wouldn't use them again.

The first car broke down in dangerous circumstances. Complete electrical failure which affected break and steering systems and rendered the car undrivable. Road side assistance took 7 hours and replacement car 24 hours. The whole process had financial implications for us. After I returned the second car YESAWAY advised that I had additional money to pay as petrol tank on first vehicle was not full as per agreement. Given the car had broken down causing me hugh cost and inconvenience and was probably not roadworthy when they hired it to me is a bit rich. Having taken the money they will not respond to my emails.

I asked for an intermediate sized car, as I just moved to the country and had a lot of luggage with me. I asked for a larger car because of my luggage, and was promised a Toyota Corolla or similar. Hitch gave me a Mazda Demio, which BARELY fit my luggage. The keyless entry didn't work, and they were not very accommodating at pick up. I feel like I was downgraded on my rental, the car had no trunk space, and was SMALLER than I paid for. I feel like I paid much more than I should have for that car.

Car was old, dented body work, quite dirty, and very noisy to drive, not great suspension. We quickly realised why it was so much cheaper than the other care hire places. Staff friendly but clearly not enough of them and low staff morale. On our arrival they initially told us we'd have to wait two hours after the scheduled pick up time for our car to be ready. After a 36 hr plane journey from Europe with 3 small children this was completely unacceptable. We said so and they somehow rustled up a far in 20 minutes... Tank wasn't full but they were relaxed about it.

Our flight information changed the morning we were leaving the USA for our trip, which was two days before we attempted to pick up the car. I called right cars, knowing there was a time difference and it was late at night in New Zealand, however I wanted to confirm the change in pickup time as soon as I found out the flight information changed. We were originally to land around 1pm, and it changed to land at 11pm. A man answered who said he was working from home, and I told him I wanted to make sure we could pick up when we landed even if it was at night outside of office hours. He confirmed, saying that he was going to be on shift at that time. When we landed, I called for the shuttle and the same man told me no one was there, that I was supposed to pick up the car at 11am THE NEXT DAY. I told him that I could not come back the next day, that I specifically checked with him that i could pick it up at night and he insisted that the pickup time was set for 11am. I told him to cancel the car, and went to an airport desk to rent a car that I could take straightaway. When I called to get a refund the next day, I was told I had to go through the booking company. I called and was told I was marked a no-show, so I could not get a refund. I called the owner of Right Cars and he said he would have to do some investigating, but I have heard nothing since.

Like: Easyness by which staff assisted in changing reserved car (from smaller into bigger as had too much luggage at very reasonable price
Dislike: Nothing to comment here. (But if at all maybe the location Nav had difficulties indicating road system-most probably through the building of news roads not yet processed in the maps)
