One issue I didn't understand was the insurance. I believe I paid QEEQ as the agent sufficient funds to ensure full coverage and no excess. On pick up I was asked for a $3000 bond and told any damage etc would be taken from that bond. I would then approach QEEQ for a claim on insurance paid with you. Turns out there were no issues, but I still don't get it?

The car we rented was a Nissan Tiida, the vehicle had done over 170,000kms and whilst it was clean and tidy, it was very old and should be retired at this stage! The biggest issue was the car seat for our 6 month old baby. When we arrived the car seat wasn't fitted, this process took about 40minutes to sort out The first car seat installed moved about 15cm either side and was not secure. We had to say this wasn't good enough as they thought it was fine. Three car seat's later (all in extremely poor condition) we had to settle for something that was somewhat secure.. All of the car seats looked like they were about 20-30 years old and are not up to today's strict standards. These seats offered little to no protection for our baby should an accident occur, the seat belts were so old they folded over, there was no protective cushioning. I was so relieved to return the car seat/car upon leaving. We would never rent through Ezu again based on how old the rental was and the extremely poor condition of their non-compliant infant car seats. I felt unsafe the whole time with our baby in the car which was awful. Skimping on the safety of babies - shame on Ezu!

When picking up the car at Queenstown Airport a closer to 9pm, we waited for 20+ minutes before being served. The counter lady is a trainee and told us that we have to find the car ourselves as she does not know which bay# the car resides. Also she could not answer some of the questions on card authorisation and insurance which leaves us quite unhappy. We finally found the car we noted that the petrol was not entirely full and it is not upon drop-off that we got told that we have to take a photo to validate such. Without any further info from the trainee, we simply infer that we need to return the car at the same petrol level to when we pick it up. So we filled up the petrol to full tank before we drive out from our final destination to Christchurch airport which took one hour and return the car as it is. During the rental we also notified Europcar that the electric uplift back door malfunction at times. Later we received an invoice from Europcar and got charged additional 86NZD on petrol which left us extremely unsatisfactory about the entire rental experience.

Terrible experience for dropping off the car. Staff was not present at drop off location at business hours. And the person that received the keys at the car park did not make a proper inspection and did not provide paperwork to ensure smooth hand-over. Now they claim that the windshield is cracked despite of the fact that we have comprehensive proof of the condition in which the car was handed over. This process has been long and tedious and the Budget staff did not take anything in their own hands, referring us immediately to their insurance company where we had to start explaining the situation from the beginning. They keep insisting that we are responsible. We have full insurance bought through easy rent cars but it is not fair that we are made responsible for something we did not do.

I booked a Mitsubishi ASX, but was given a Mitsubishi Outlander, it was a little bigger but comfortable the same. Pick up instructions was to call up for a free transfer to Ace Rentals about 1-2 km away from Queenstown airport terminal, the transfer was smooth. At pickup, the guy was clear to explain and checked all documents, but cautioned me about my liability excess is $5500, that got me worried even I bought AXA coverage through QEEQ. At returning the car, the lady was not helpful, I had a dent on the vehicle front passenger bumper cause by a big landscaping rock while reversing for parking, she seemed panicky and quickly made a report for me and charged me excess of $5755.08 on my card. She was not helpful to explain how is the process, more worried about the next customer picking up vehicle, when I ask for credit card slip, she said she do not have one for me, luckily I took a photo of Ace Rentals copy which I signed. Later then I realised on the accident report it said they charge me excess $4783, but then I paid on credit card $5575.08, still not sure why, hopefully could be resolved later when they obtain an assessment of cost of repair to bumper, after Christmas they say. When I ask for if they have a telephone contact which I could call from Singapore, she said another guy will call me. I kept calm , since I had to catch a flight, and trust QEEQ and AXA insurance would help clear things up.

Unfortunately we had terrible experience with Jucy. It was the only car rental company available , as everything else was fully booked . The car we were given was in horrible condition , very hard to drive. They charged us over $600 for 3 days and most of our last day we spent on one spot unable to start the car. The service provided when your car breakdown was the worse we ever experienced . We we holding on line for 30 min. Then we were told to stay by our car that someone is going to call back.. an hour later still no one called .. so we kept trying to call all different people , even an Jucy shuttle driver , after 2 hours we finally got on hold someone and AAA repair service was organized. .. no one showed up for an hour. Luckily the car "magically" started again otherwise we would be still stuck there now. We drove it straight to the office because we we worried to stop , that it wouldnt start again. The worse thing is that they washed it and put it back for rent. I really feel sorry for who ever gets the same car.

Although we had pre paid the collision damage waiver, Hertz advised this was not the case and charged for this again. They also denied that we had paid a deposit despite showing them the Qeeq receipt. When asked to see his screen I pointed out his own system showed a $200 deposit. The Hertz rep advised the Qeeq agreement was noting to do with them. Total agreed to paid via Qeeq $1,034.19 total charged by Hertz $1,219.94 on top of the $244.13 deposit paid. Accordingly total charged $1,464.07 against the agreed $1,034.19 an extra cost of $429.88!

The car’s alignment was bad and we realised it on the 2nd day itself. I called to see if we could change the car. And they told me to call again the next day and the next day. For 3 days straight I called but had to explain the situation to 3 different people and there was no record of me putting the initial request. We went there on the 4th day only to realize we could have easily exchange it if we’ve brought the car in immediately and request for a technical check. This was not mentioned to me from the 1st-3rd call.

Told them we had to switch vehicles as we weren't going to use a car with no working radio in 2019.
