My impression of Americans has significantly decreased. My English isn't very good, so I asked a friend who speaks English well to call the front desk for me. I told them I didn't want any insurance, but the front desk told me that it was mandatory by the state government and that I needed to buy it to drive to Miami. If I didn't buy it, I couldn't rent the car. In a rush to check out of my hotel, I paid for it. Later, as I slowly reviewed the bill on my phone, I realized it was an insurance fee. Are Americans blatantly lying now? The rental company responded by saying I had signed the agreement, which means I accepted it. They advised me to be more careful next time. I can only laugh at that.
