First car that was assigned was damaged, second car had a head light out and the key fob was going bad. Had to drive all the way back to the airport to exchange the car. Not to happy with the experience and the staff the second time was not too friendly.

This was the worst experience I have had with rental car and I don’t think I will have such an experience again as I will never rent from Fox rent a car. The staff was horrible at the counter. Wanted to charge us $90 extra for dropping the car early even though I had paid for those 2 full days. Wasted almost 2 hours at my pick-up visit. And at the end, charged me $25 for me to pick the car which I was not supposed to pay but I did as I was getting late for the function to attend and I needed a car. This was something one should never experience. I have decided I will never rent from Fox even though they give me for free.

There were lots of negative reviews so somewhat apprehensive getting the car, but I found my experience to be very good and all the service people were excellent and helpful. Checkin was pretty fast and return took about 3 minutes. I would definitely consider booking FOX again.

All went well. However Avis, as with all car hire companies, needs to speed up the check in process. Their computer system is extremely slow. Ridiculous slow. There was only one serving and by the time we were served the queue had grown from 0 to more than 7 and getting larger. Car could have been cleaner.

Our fault I guess but the pick up point was not close by Chicago City Centre and our Lyft driver had a little difficulty finding it. Staff at the centre were helpful as when the SatNav arrived the holder for it was not compatible with the unit. One of the ladies gave us her car phone holder which did the job to a fashion but the unit was prone to falling off it. Expected better when paying upwards of $300 for the satnav rental. One big issue for us was that after a few days the car system alerted us to low air pressure on front os tire. I topped it up at an airline but thereafter we we had to top it up each day at the start of our days travels which was a bit of a pain. The car performed well enough though throughout the journey. Car was a Jeep Cherokee and was big enough for our needs.

We waited for 90 minutes in the queue at Dollar, clearly there was not enough counter staff on that day. When we finally got to the front, we were told that our vehicle class would not be available for another 45 minutes which was extremely disappointing after the 90 minute wait. The only option to speed this up was to pay $13 / day more to move up a class. We expressed extreme dissatisfaction with this, and explained that the upgrade should have been free if our vehicle wasn't available. The lady behind the counter insisted that a paid upgrade was the best that we could do. We felt like this was up-selling. We were also felt like the automatic toll road payment was upsold to us. She explained 'its difficult for foreigners to pay', which we feel is nonsense. As we were out of the city the whole time it was probably unnecessary for us to have it, but we did, and we upgraded our car as we had been waiting so long that we had had enough. When we got to the garage there seemed to be one of our original classes of vehicle parked there. Dreadful customer service, dreadful wait. I will now avoid Dollar like the plague

The car was a Jeep. It had/has an alternator issue in that the alternator did not charge up the battery. So I had to have multiple jump starts in an area that I was unfamiliar with. There was a service phone number on the key fob, however on several occasions there was no response to my calls, which were usually at night in the pouring rain. Luckily I have AAA motor club service. Service tech that responded the first time said the battery had rusted terminal cables. The second tech said that the alternator wasn't putting out the correct voltage to maintain the battery. When I returned the vehicle, I parked it in the entrance drive, and told the clerk that she would have to jump start the vehicle to move it, since it had a bead battery.

The cost for the vehicle was a bit excessive, but all the rental agencies were gouging that the time because of events in the area. The car was dirty, had a broken motor in the left side mirror and a broken foot step on the driver floor board. The insides were a bit dirty as well, but the car ran well and the staff were very nice and quick.
